Since its release for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch devices, over 6.5 million copies of the game have been purchased,[1] and versions have appeared for other touchscreen-based smartphones.
Now, we have Angry Birds for Android!
The basic premise: Evil Pigs have stolen the Birds' eggs. This has made them.. Angry Birds. You control the action via means of a slingshot. It's loaded with one of a number of coloured birds, each with their own abilities. You fire the bird at the structure the Pigs are hiding in, in an attempt to kill (pop) each Pig. Destroying the building, bonus objects and number of Bird remaining, all give more points.
Progress through the levels and you will find that the birds begin to come in different colours. These each have a unique power, activated by tapping anywhere onscreen.
The power is explained to you through a picture when you find a new bird.
- Red birds are simply launched at the structure, using their momentum to attack.
- Blue birds separate into three smaller birds
- Yellow birds speed up and dash into their targets
- Black birds explode on command or shortly after coming into contact with an object
- White birds drop egg-shaped bombs
- Green birds go back and fly in the opposite direction like a boomerang
- Big Brother birds behave like the standard red birds, but are bigger and cause more damage
It's pretty addictive. I only noticed half an hour had gone by when I was told I was late for a meeting.
