Hey again Clint,
I've done a bit of Googling, and it appears the culprit is something called AP Mobile, which relates to the News widget?
Try setting the AP Mobile app's refresh settings from 'Auto' to 'None'.

Hey guys, so i got a Google nexus s around xmas time and in less than a week used well over 1.5GB of data and thought ok maybe cos its a new phone im playing with it heaps etc. Next week even more data! By now im thinking, huh! So i took it back to Vodafone and they refunded the sale and i got an iphine4s but hated it so sold it and got the phone im using now, galaxy s2. Love it, BUT! Guess what's happening again and almost to a tee. Excessively high data use and i can't work out why?
Bear in mind that in the past i had a 3GB plan per month and never used over 1.8GB in a month but now all of a sudden im using massive amounts of data and the culprit seems to be "system traffic" according to radio opts "traffic monitor app". the problem is that it doesn't tell me exactly what's using the data and i have no idea how to stop this happening. i don't watch any YouTube videos anymore and have no syncs running, no location services, no push email, background data is disabled except for when i go on the market, and i turn 3g off when im not using it.
would installing a custom Rom help fix this issue and if not, what would?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Been there done that, lol. That was one of the first things i did when i started chewing through data like a fat kid at a cake sale.

Damn.
I would recommend rooting it, if you feel comfortable. That will allow you to either install a custom ROM, or something that will allow you to remove the Samsung bloatware.

Yea I'll get in touch with a guy i know that might be able to root the phone for me, don't trust myself to.
